Tissue trimmers generate enough heat to cause coagulation, allowing gingival modelling almost entirely without bleeding or damage to the tooth – an alternative to a scalpel or electrosurgery. Use without water spray at 300,000 – 450,000 rpm; run the trimmer for 30–45 seconds before use to allow heat generation at the tip.
